Friends Set Destiny With 'Manifest!' This June

Friends, who recently dropped by The Alternate Side for a live session, have finally come up wth a title — and new label — for their debut album. The Bushwick-based quintet will release Manifest! on June 5 via Fat Possum Records and they have also lined up their first headlining dates, beginning June 13 in Boston. The tour will back home in New York on July 7 at Bowery Ballroom.

Friends, led by irrepressible frontwoman Samantha Urbani, also debuted a new single "Mind Control," mixed by Grammy-winner Paul Epworth, best known these days as Adele's collaborator on 21. The album, recorded at Strange Weather studios in Brooklyn, was produced by the band.

Urbani designed the album cover for Manifest!, working with photographer Erez Avissar.
