Laura Marling Confirms A Fourth Album Release For Early 2013

Singer and songwriter Laura Marling, who wraps a North American tour this weekend, has confirmed that she's finished writing songs for her fourth album, a followup to 2011's critically-acclaimed A Creature I Don't Know.

Marling told The Owl that she is recording the album, between touring committments, with her frequent collaborator, producer Ethan Johns. The pair, who worked on Marling's Mercury Prize-nominated album I Speak Because I Can, have been working at Real World Studios in Bath, England. The still-untitled record would be the fourth album the prolific 22-year-old singer has released in just over four years.

"For me, songwriting is a place where I can let myself say things that don’t really make sense," said Marling.
There’s so much in my songs that I would never say in real life, but I try not to question it, I feel comfortable just letting it be.”

After finishing her North American tour of intimate theatres, chapels and cathedrals (she plays San Francisco's Grace Cathedral tonight, June 29), Marling heads home to the UK to play a prestigious headlining show at London's Royal Albert Hall on July 7.
