Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Nov 17th, 2009 - Bowery Ballroom : New York, NY
This shaggy, Los Angeles folk-rock collective - an amiable, barefooted cross between Polyphonic Spree, Arcade Fire and the Grateful Dead - will be ambling into New York, supporting their debut album, Up From Below. Led by singer and songwriter Alex Ebert, formerly of Ima Robot, the good-natured, effusive, hand-clapping vibe of their shambolic live shows have won them a legion of fans.

Art Brut - Nov 15th, 2009 - Bowery Ballroom : New York, NY
Making a return visit to the States in support of their album Art Brut Vs. Satan, produced by The Pixies' Frank Black, the UK/German quintet records audacious, brashly tongue-in-cheek songs like "Alcoholics Unanimous" and "DC Comics and Chocolate Milk," an ode to a 28-year old who lives exclusively on cereal. Lead singer Eddie Argos recently announced a side project called Everybody Was In The French Resistance ... Now which will release its debut Fixin' The Charts in January. Argos and The Blood Arm's Dyan Valdes promise skewed reconfigurations of popular songs by Michael Jackson, Kanye West and others.

Band of Skulls - Nov 15th, 2009 - Music Hall of Williamsburg : Brooklyn, NY
Barely two years old, British rockers Band of Skulls scored a coveted spot on the hotly-hyped soundtrack of The Twilight Saga: New Moon with their song "Friends." The trio, briefly and cryptically named Fleeing New York, released their debut Baby Darling Doll Face Honey earlier this year and after this headlining gig in Brooklyn, will jump aboard a tour with Metric.
